Lynette Wilson is a couture dressmaker with over 50 years of experience in wedding dress design, bridal alterations, and formalwear. Well known across Bayside Melbourne and now based on the Mornington Peninsula, Lyn retired in 2015, but she couldn’t put the scissors down!
Today, she focuses on precision bridal alterations, formal alterations, and custom tailoring for made-to-measure formalwear, bringing the same couture care she was recognized for throughout her career.
A finalist in the ABIA Wedding Industry Awards (2005), which honor Australia’s most trusted wedding vendors (finalists must achieve 95%+ customer satisfaction), Lyn is kind, caring, and hardworking.
She provides a safe, welcoming environment for all individuals, believing that everyone deserves to feel incredible in their clothes, regardless of size. Lyn works respectfully with all sizes, shapes, genders, and ages, aiming to help clients look even better than they imagined.
Lyn’s craftsmanship is uncompromising. She has spent countless hours, often into the early morning, hand-sewing beads and perfecting fine details on the stunning designer gowns she has created. That same dedication now goes into every alteration and custom tailoring piece.
When she's not in her creative workshop, Lyn loves spending time with her family and is the backbone of the care for her four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Lyn adores her dog, Bonnie, who will be excited to greet you during your consultations with Lyn.
